I love to explore, backcountry camp, fish, hike, cook, snowshoe, ski, kayak, and take adventures … pretty much anything outdoors. I am an animal lover, love art/photography, the sounds of nature, campfires, and everything beautiful our Earth brings us.
I'm passionate about getting outdoors, I find nature captivating and it is my therapy - there is nothing more pure than the true beauty of nature, I aspire to help others get outside and do the same, and if unable to then please watch and see the beauty through my eyes.

Hunt for the Medicinal Chaga Mushroom
January 7, 2023 - Our hunt for the medicinal Chaga Mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) - a type of fungus that grows mainly on the bark of birch trees in cold climates, having an appearance similar to burnt charcoal. It is high in antioxidants and plant compounds and has been harvested for centuries as a traditional medicine, mainly to boost immunity and overall health. It also may reduce inflammation, help reduce oxidative stress, and also has been used to treat diabetes, certain cancers and heart disease. Traditionally, chaga was grated into a fine powder and brewed as an herbal tea. Nowadays, available as a tea but also as a powdered or capsuled supplement.

We were fortunate that the Going-to-the-Sun Road was open and started our hike from the Trail of the Cedars Trailhead. Absolute beauty all around!

My Dogs' First Overnight Wild Camping Adventure!
Переглядів 6084 роки тому
This is Cooper & Rocky's first wild primitive camp in the forest behind my home (approx. 1/4 of a mile into the woods on an old logging "road"). We enjoyed a nice camp fire, relaxed in the hammock, listened to the crickets chirp, cooked a delicious dinner - cast iron pan-seared shrimp, vegetable kabobs and hotdogs! It was a rainy night, which subsided early in the morning. The dogs played in th...

Bushwhack Hike & Fishing FAIL!
Переглядів 8454 роки тому
May 2020 - West Canada Lake Wilderness, Adirondack Park, New York, USA - approx. 13 mile hike into the forest, an old logging area. Bushwhacking for the majority of the hike, therefore, failed to get to the pond we were destined to fish due to our later in the day arrival and lack of daylight. Attempted to fish the creek near our backcountry camp site, but it appears it was a "dead" creek with ...

On which side of the birch tree does chaga grow in line with the cardinal directions? Does it matter?
I enjoyed this video! Great job.
I haven’t done Cliff yet but I did Redfield along with Gray Peak Skylight and Haystack during my 21 hour hike last Fall
Hello aunt kim
Nice spot. I'm starting to realize, there are a lot of nice bass spots

Thank you.pretty area.
I love your videos but they are too short, few and far between😳
Great video! We really enjoyed it
What lake?
This is a pretty bad design with the pole in the middle. The Durston X-mid pro tents are so much better.
Hi. LIKE. LIKE.
Hi. FRIENDS.
At 11:46 it's look like a human face in wood.
I have a very nice post, congratulations my friend
Hello, I was wondering can you bring a camper there? Thanks in advance.
Yes you can. Thanks for watching :)
R u hungarian?
I am
Loved this! Thank you for sharing. :)
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
That zipper sound at the end scared the shit out of me.
Hello nice video did you have to book this site or is it first come first serve.
Hi, in the summer season you have to reserve, after park closes for the season it is first come
@@KimberlyFazekas thank you is there a certain place you have to park overnight? and about how long is the walk to get to those camping islands? Thank you.
@@alexandernavia5774 check out their site, there’s parking right at the site, www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/24464.html
Can you do another video showing this tent set up with two sleeping/sleeping bags and having the two backpacks inside the tent as well? I am trying to decide on possibly this tent or the 4p one. Thanks!
For a semi-freestanding 3-season tent, I'd say that Hornet held up admirably. Kinda impressed. 👏
definitely, I was also impressed. Thanks for watching!
GREAT. CAMPING.
Thank you!
Great video. I see the Superstitions every morning from my back yard.
Thank you, I'm so jealous, such a beautiful place
@@KimberlyFazekas yes it is. It’s starting to get warm out here now. 100 degrees today. The Superstitions did have a pretty big fire a couple years ago so the scenery has changed.
Good video but much to short.I'd prefer around 60-75 minutes.
Noted! Thanks so much!
Those stuffed peppers got me hungry. I'd just be worried eating something like that while camping, it could be gassy.as long as you have Tums and pepto just in case your good..the stuffed peppers I'm used to were peppers filled with ground beef, rice, egg, bread crumbs and other spices...myself, I'm a stuffed cabbage fan myself but your way looks great to.
Good point! lol love stuffed cabbage here too :)
Awesome
<<<a cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you.
get a gatewood poncho tarp....does the same thing, plus a rain cover and pack cover combined...
The pole in the middle ruins it
I love it but I’m trying to decide and if that tent is too big for the AT. What are your thoughts on that?
It's fairly large, I'm not familiar with the site sizes on the AT so cannot advise?
Nice place I see lots off goodies along your way 🌱🍄😋
Jeepers! That leech was like a snake. How creepy.
7:34 did you eat him?😱 Straight cut to frog stew, Lol.
whats the actual name of the trail head that goes to this lake looks beautiufl
Not a trailhead, it's a state park, Indian Lake Islands Campground in NY
what model of the down bag that you had?
It is the Feathered Friends Petrel 10 degree F bag goose down
Thank you for sharing. My wife and I use to do stuff like this. I am disabled now, and don't know if I'll ever be able to do this ever again, but I certainly enjoy watching others do what I use to love!
Thanks so much for watching! I'm happy to have shared with you and I'm sure your wife and you made so many fabulous memories :)
@@KimberlyFazekas we have been able to... I am able to on rare occasions still get out in the wild for some short walks, but we certainly have many fond memories of freezing our butts off trying to keep warm, and then you get a hot meal prepped and there is nothing like it :), hope all is well
Them peppers look delicious :) Just need some chopped grilled chicken!
Great idea!! Thank you :)
You should always keep your trout in the water until they calm down, then you can lift them in nice video. I have Busch waked around that lake hunting season.
Great advise! I love that area, glad you also got to be there, hopefully you got a nice trophy! Thanks for watching.
You guys have alot of hearts. Good video
thank you!
Looks delicious it is hard to cook when it is cold and snowy!
It really is! Thanks and thanks for watching :)
Would love to hold you on a snowy night 🌙
Nice pictures what camera was used?
Thank you...I used just my I-Phone and my Go Pro
Love camping in the snow!
Me too, such a great experience and just all round awesome!
with all the crazies in the world i would never go back country camping. stick to the camp grounds
Knock on wood, I haven't encountered any trouble thus far... carry bear spray and a knife ;)
Yummy food looks great
Thank you 😋
Did you put lipstick on the bullheads at the 19:30 mark?
lol yup!
Are you from New Jersey? We have friends Fazekas.
Not that I know of but I do know a girl with the same name that lives in NJ.. maybe a distant cousin!
Awesome trip... Food looked delicious. The tent was a success. Once you fall asleep in a snow storm the walls slowly close in on you. I would've slept in the tent with you though. Great trip. Thank you for sharing, Take care.
Thank you...So true! Haha that's cute. Thanks for watching :)))
